Sleek Power Plump Lip Crayon Review

I’ve never seen a plumping lip crayon before but I came across the Power Plump range by drugstore brand Sleek in Boots recently. I love lip crayons and I love lip plumping so this went straight into my basket.

I picked up the colour 1050 Notorious Nude. Mostly, this was to justify the purchase since my lip collection is predominantly brights but I’ve taken to the nude lip as the perfect neutral look for spring makeup.

Lip crayons are great for getting that smooth application that just glides onto the lips and the Sleek crayon is quite thin so it’s easier to line and fill with colour compared to some of the thicker lip crayons.

It’s the size of a standard large pencil and sharpens fine as such, though I’ve only had to sharpen it once so far so I’m not sure how well it will fare when there’s not much of the product left.

As for the lip plumping aspect, it works about as well as any other plumping product I’ve tried in that it definitely makes your lips feel plumper, but there’s no noticeable difference. The tingling sensation that usually comes with any sort of lip plumper feels a bit like a burning sting with Sleek Power Plump- the sort of sensation you might get if you rubbed a chilli over your lips. It doesn’t last long though and the colour is gorgeous.

Lipsticks never stay put on me and this one isn’t going to change that, though it does survive my morning drink at work which is always a bonus for me!

Retailing at £5.49 at Boots, it’s definitely worth a try if you like lip crayons. I’m excited to try the other colours in the range but, if you’re not into lip plumpers, it’s probably not for you.

Let me know if you’ve tried anything new recently! x
