Having upgraded from the humble makeup bag to a snazzy travel case, my collection is growing so much it’s time to finally get myself a dressing table vanity!
With lots of new storage and organisation to sort out, it made sense to clear out those products that I’m just not using anymore.
Avon Mascaras: True Nourishing Mascara, Superextending Lengthening Mascara, Infinitize Mascara
It’s official: my love affair with Avon mascara is over. Though Supershock remains a top favourite of mine, these are three products long past their shelf life cluttering up my collection.
They all had something I liked when I first started using them- Infinitize has the quirky brush for lash drama and I adore nourishing mascara, I just wasn’t getting any use out of these anymore.
Primark PS…Lip Duo in dark pink
I find Primark’s expanding beauty range a bit hit and miss and unfortunately, this one was a miss. I wanted to experiment and try new colours and, while I did like the darker colour, this lipstick and gloss duo just felt cheap with a dry and plasticy lipstick and gloopy gloss that wasn’t for me.
Barry M Chisel Cheeks Contour Kit
I got this as a free gift but I’m glad I didn’t pay for it. It comes with three powder tones that are just chalky and difficult to blend, resulting in a patchy, muddy look
Collection #YourStyleYourMood Palette
I usually love Collection products and bought this one mainly for the rose gold-toned shadow. Since then, I’ve just picked up better alternatives like De’lanci or Makeup Revolution that are much less chalky, better pigmented and easier to blend.
Avon Powder Foundation
Powder products are generally not great with my skin and can make me look cakey but I wanted to try powder foundation out. This isn’t at all a bad product and actually gave surprisingly high coverage but the powder didn’t look good on me.
Avon Color Trend Pressed Powder in translucent tan
I’ve never been a big fan of Avon’s Color Trend range. I think it’s mostly aimed at teenagers who are just getting into makeup. It didn’t help that I picked completely the wrong shade with this one and it looked far too dark on my skin. It does blend well and looked good after I’ve finished my makeup but it didn’t last or help set my makeup at all.
Helen E Cover It concealer
I got this in a trial set of Helen E products and was disappointed with most of them, to be honest. I’m not a fan of concealer pots anyway but I found it hard to get any product out and then it was difficult to blend and felt waxy on my skin. Not for me!
I can’t wait to show you when I get my new dressing table! Hopefully this clear out means I’ll have room for even more pretties!
