I’ve wanted to try a Zoeva palette for ages now and wasn’t sure which to get but eventually I settled on the Mixed Metals Palette (£18. Beauty Bay)
The Zoeva palette comes in pretty basic cardboard packaging which I think will probably get dirty through use. I did consider depotting these but for now I’m keeping them as they are as I like having the names of the shades on the packaging rather than one of those loose plastic sheets that I aways lose.
The ten colours all have metal-related names:
- Alloy – Lilac toned metallic mauve
- Neo Brass – Golden olive green
- Bronce – Metallic sage green
- Rusty Steel – Warm red toned bronze
- Copper Plate – Deep rusty copper
- Warm Silver – Silver toned pastel pink
- Platinum – Lilac toned silver
- Ore Stone – Deep shimmering teal
- Aluminum – Deep cool grey shimmer
- Onyx – True black with golden shimmer
I adore the unusual shade selection as I love shimmer shadows and I know I’ll get use out of all these colours. The shadows are super pigmented too as shown in the swatch!
They aren’t the most wearable colours for natural everyday looks but if you like to experiment, this palette is for you! It sort of reminds me of the Urban Decay Moondust palette in that you can’t really create a complete eye look with this- the only matte shade included is the black which feels a bit out of place to me but does make a great liner shade.
When combined with other shadows, the colour potential is amazing!
I haven”t had much chance to play around with this palette yet but I’m impressed so far! The colours blend especially well over a cream base like the Maybelline Color Tattoos and I find that helps them to last all day. They are super shimmery so I think I’ll try them out with the NYX glitter primer next as the shimmer tends to fade by the end of the day.
Have you tried Zoeva palettes out? I’m keen to try more from the brand!
