When I saw the I Heart Makeup I Heart Chocolate Rose Gold palette, I knew I had to get it. Yes, I do already have way too many palettes but this one is different! This is quite an obvious dupe of the Huda Beauty Rose Gold palette, which I’ve been eyeing up for while now but never been able to justify that £56 price tag. For just £8.99, I headed straight to the Tam Beauty website to give them my money!
What I’d forgotten from my last Tam Beauty Haul is that delivery takes ages! I placed my order last Saturday thinking I’d get it quicker than my local Superdrug but I only received it today, a week later. A good reason to order with them though is that they were doing their mystery bag promotion again for orders over £30. Offering something free is a sure-fire way to get me to purchase! So here’s what I got:
My main reason for ordering: the beautiful rose gold palette. If you’re familiar with the other I Heart Chocolate palettes, the packaging and basic layout is the same. It’s shaped like a chocolate bar but this one is metallic and comes with a shade layout that’s slightly different to Huda’s with the two larger highlight shades. I can’t wait to try this out!
This comes in the most adorable mini chocolate bar packaging with a handy mirror. It’s a blush and highlight gradient inside. I love glow powders like Soap & Glory Glow All Out and the Tanya Burr Illuminating Powders but I always find that they’re not long lasting so we’ll see how I get on with this!
I’ve been trying more highlighters recently and I really like the colours in this palette. I don’t think they’ll all suit my skintone but I know I’ll be able to create different looks with this.
I only ordered the Freedom lip liner but there was also a Makeup Revolution Lip Liner in my package! The shade on this says ‘Royal’, which seems like it’s come out of one of their lip kits when I looked it up. Anyway, I wanted a liner for my darker lipsticks and now I have two! I got the Renaissance Lipstick in greatest as I wasn’t that impressed last time I had a MUR lipstick but this is a gorgeous colour with beautiful Charlotte Tilbury inspired packaging so I’m expecting good things! I also got a Freedom bronzer that I’ll be keeping in backup.
Now for the mystery bag reveal!
I always expect big things when I get a free gift. Like I know it’s just them clearing stock but I hate getting products that I can’t use. I received 9 items in my bag:
I haven’t opened this as I think it’s one for the giveaway pile- the shades don’t look like something I’d use very much.
I actually saw this shade reduced to £3 on the site and thought about getting it to test out a pomade but it looks way too light for me. When I got this in my bag though I happily tried it out on my brows and I’m surprised to say it doesn’t look too light at all!
This is what I don’t like about mystery bags. If they think I’m going to be caramel brown in a pomade, I’m probably not going to want a black gel too, am I? I haven’t opened this yet but I’ll see if I can make it work for costumes if nothing else!
I got one of these in my last mystery bag so I probably won’t put this in the giveaway pile but I can’t see that I’ll get much use out of it either.
Makeup Revolution Mono Eyeshadow I Want U
This isn’t on the website anymore but single eyeshadows from the brand are usually around £1. I haven’t swatched this yet but it looks like my sort of colour.
I was quite excited to see this as I don’t really own any unusual lip colours. It’s a bright lilac shade so not something I’d wear to the office but I think I could make this work for some looks.
I’m really happy with this one- the packaging is cute and the shade is perfect!
Makeup Revolution Nail Polishes x2- glittery red and glittery black
They do have shade names I think but these aren’t available on the website anymore. I’ll keep the black one to try out and I’ve already given the red one to my mum- I have a similar polish and I know it’s a shade she’ll wear.
Hope you enjoyed this post! x
