Days of Christmas Day 1: Christmas Makeup Essentials

It’s the 1st of December and many beauty bloggers are releasing festive content. I love Christmas but I haven’t prepared for blogmas at all! Instead, welcome to my days of Christmas (there may or may not be 12 parts to this but I don’t want to limit myself!)

I won’t be posting every day but I hope to get as many festive-themed blogs out there as I can before the big day!

Day One: Christmas Makeup Essentials

Metallic Lips

I was going to mention the classic festive red lip or even the autumn fave dark lip but I want this post to be all about the party season, and you can’t go wrong with a touch of sparkle! I apply mine over a red lippie if I don’t want it to be too intense!

Highlighter

Mascara and eyebrows are my top can’t-leave-the-house-without beauty products, but highlighter definitely makes the essentials cut when it comes to looking Christmassy. Dust some sparkle onto your cheekbones and you’re ready for Christmas!

Foiled eyes and duo chromes

At this time of year, festive eyeshadow is all shades of glitzy gold, deep green and vivid red, but there’s no reason why you can’t stick to your colour comfort zone and still up the drama. Brands such as Makeup Geek offer foiled and duo chrome single shadows that are sure to make your eyes pop for your Christmas party makeup!

Dramatic lashes

I’m all about the volume when it comes to lashes and don’t usually do anything different for everyday mascara or a party look, but if you’re looking for a simple way to make natural makeup a little more festive glam, invest in a set of eyelash curlers! If like me until recently, you don’t yet own an eyelash curler, the great thing about them is that you’ll often find them in Christmas gift sets!

Glitter

I’m pretty sure it would be impossible for me to write about Christmas and not mention glitter. If your face doesn’t already look like a sparkly Christmas tree (a great festive look- honest!), throw some glitter on it! Liquid glitter eyeshadows like the Stila Magnificent Metals are ideal if you don’t like using loose glitter.

Hope you enjoyed my first post! Let me know if there’s anything Christmassy you’d like me to cover! x
