9 Underrated Beauty Products

I’ve discovered many amazing products through blogging, some are super hyped and some are hidden gems. I wanted to share my hidden gems with you in this post. It’s worth noting that these are the products I haven’t heard much about in the last year since I started my blog, so it’s quite possible that some of these things did have a hype before that.

The Body Shop Drops of Youth Liquid Youth Peel

This is one of those skincare items I love but always forget to use. I do have a love/hate relationship with it because it works by balling up on the skin and it can be quite difficult to remove but the fresh feeling it gives my skin is amazing!

Freedom Pro Glycolic Radiance Toner

I think this is now discontinued following the rebrand of Freedom to Revolution Pro but I hope they bring it back as it’s a great product for the money!

This is supposed to be a dupe for the Pixi Glow Tonic, which I still see people raving about so I thought this might have more popularity but I’ve never tried the Pixi to compare.

I initially said I didn’t care much for the effects of this in an empties post but I did miss the radiance it gives my skin and picked up another bottle.

Collection Velvet Kiss liquid lipsticks

Everyone knows Collection for that concealer but hardly anyone seems to talk about these £2.99 lipsticks and I’m not sure why because they’re the perfect dupe for the NYX Soft Matte Lipcreams to me. The shade selection doesn’t come close to NYX but they have recently added more shades so I hope they keep expanding!

Essence Lash Princess Volume Mascara

I feel like everyone talks about the the other lash princess mascara in the green packaging but I’ve hardly seen anyone mention the orange one. Essence are generally a much-raved-about budget brand so I’m sure people do- plus they have tons of cheap mascaras so someone is always talking about one of them! This is my favourite from them that I’ve tried.

BH Cosmetics Foil Eyes palettes

I have both the Foil Eyes 1 and Foil Eyes 2 palettes and I’m pretty sure I’ve never seen anyone talk about these. They were really hard to photograph but I’ve included some random swatches below so you can see how pretty they are.

These would probably get more love if they were single shadows like the Makeup Geek ones so it’s possible I will depot them in the future but so pretty and so cheap!

Max Factor Colour Xpert Waterproof Liner Metallic Liner

Max Factor as a brand seem really overlooked in the beauty community and I’m not sure why since I usually enjoy their products. They’re the same as Covergirl in the US, I believe and I don’t hear too much about them either.

I don’t wear liquid liner much so it’s unusual for one to make the list but this stunning metallic deep purple can just add that extra something to an eye look. It’s also pretty similar to a Makeup Forever liner I have.

Rimmel Match Perfection Concealer

I recently rediscovered this concealer in my collection. It doesn’t feel like there’s a ton of product in the tube and the brush tip isn’t my favourite but it’s a really nice concealer and the shade I have (classic beige) is that kind of midway shade for my skintone so I can just about get away with using it both to brighten under my eyes and to conceal blemishes.

PS…The Nudes Metallic Eye Cream in Enchanted

There’s a lot of underrated Primark products in my opinion but I don’t want to mention too many because hardly any are still available! I went for this cream shadow from The Nudes collection because I haven’t seen anybody else discussing these, though the range overall seems quite popular.

Enchanted is a gorgeous bronze shimmer shade, which I compared to the Maybelline Color Tattoos in my Primark vs. Drugstore post. I do have a couple of other colours but they’re not as wearable for me.

PS…Nail Polish

I want to mention Primark nail polishes in general as I feel like they’ve really improved in formula recently. I had been avoiding them after trying their old formula but I thought they were cheap enough to give them another go and I’m glad I did.

The packaging is awful as you can expect for the money with a huge lid and tiny brush but the new formula is actually really good! My opinion on nails isn’t usually the best one to trust since I only ever wear false nails so I’m not saying these polishes are the best but they’ve definitely improved!

Honorable mentions: L’Oreal Miss Manga mascara, wet n wild Eyeshadow Primer, Rimmel Fresher Face Foundation

    1. There’s some really unusual colours I’m there! They are the kind that apply better damp but I don’t mind that I just don’t reach for them much because I always need another pallette to go with them!
