Decluttering my Lipstick Collection

Sorry for the awful quality of the photos. I hadn’t originally planned to make this a blog post but then I thought that I love reading about declutters so today I’m sharing my lipstick declutter.

This was beyond needing to be done. I counted 84 lipsticks, liquid lipsticks and glosses, not including liners and lip balms etc. and here’s the situation:

Lipstick declutter

What did I get rid of?

Max Factor LipFinity duo (unsure of shade name)

The colour didn’t suit me and nobody has time for a two-step lipstick so I never reached for it.

Avon Matte Lipstick Coral Fever

I have another really similar colour and I’ve had this one longest.

Freedom Pro Lipstick Noir Watching

This featured in last week’s my week in lipsticks post so I had worn it a few times but I have a few similar shades in my collection that I prefer.

NYX High Voltage Lipstick Rags to Riches

This colour didn’t really suit me and I’m not a big fan of the formula.

Stila Stay All Day Liquid Lipsticks in Perla and Sogno

This was heartbreaking to let these two go since I got them in the star-studded eight set but neither of these colours suited me and I have far too many in my collection to waste time trying to use these up.

ColourPop Ultra Matte Lip Bare Necessities

I’m pretty sad to see anything from ColourPop go considering it’s such a pain to get it here with customs etc. but I’ve tried to wear this since I featured in my last chance products post and it just doesn’t really suit me or only suits certain looks that I don’t do very often.

Collection Velvet Kiss in Mulberry and Cotton Candy

It was sad to let these go too since I love these Collection lipsticks but the pink one didn’t suit me and I already had a couple of shades similar to that berry purple and I hardly wear that sort of colour.

NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream Morocco

This is a bright orange-red shade that I used to think suited me but I’ve realised it doesn’t. I have other bright shades to wear once we get to Summer!

Rimmel Stay Matte Lipsticks in Be my Baby and Coral Sass

I feel like nobody has talked about these since their release last year but I don’t think there were very popular. I also have a plum shade which I kept but the nude and coral pink shades don’t suit me and seem to have a different formula to the darker one.

Lime Crime Velvetines Lipstick Pumpkin

I wanted to like this but I find the formula too drying!

ColourPop Lippie Stix Aquarius

I don’t know what it is about this lipstick because I love the matching lippie pencil but I think creamy nudes just don’t look good on me.

Sleek Power Pump Lip Crayon Notorious Nude

I used to like this but the plumping aspect seems really painful on my lips now so I think it’s probably past its best. I also have a fuchsia one but that’s not as painful so I kept that!

Revlon ColorStay Lip Liner Nude

The remaining product completely snapped off while I was swatching this so I guess technically it should be in my next empties but I don’t remember ever liking this anyway.

Lord & Berry Ultimate Lip Liner

I got this in a Look Incredible box and it’s okay but it’s a brownish nude shade that I own almost no lipsticks in so I didn’t see the point in keeping it.

Makeup Revolution Lip Liner Royal

This came in a Tam Beauty order, presumably as a mistake as I think it’s from one of their lip kits. I wanted to keep this to go with my purple lipsticks but the lead was always kind of broken and it came out scratchy so I was probably never going to use it.

Avon lipstick sample

I had two of these but only kept the nude one as they have a sort of metallic sheen to them and the pink didn’t look right.

Avon SPF Lip Balm

I’ve had this a while but I only recently opened it and it seems to have gone bad as it’s a thick, crumbly texture and it makes me look like a zombie when I apply it.

PS…Cranberry Lip Jelly

I’ve had this ages too and did use it sometimes but I’m not sure if it was really doing anything.

Here’s everything I managed to declutter:

Some of these lipsticks will hopefully be able to find better homes!

Now I just need to decide where to focus my decluttering efforts next!
