PS…Liquid Glitter Eyeshadow Review

I spotted these new liquid eyeshadows in my local Primark in what looked like a Christmas collection of products including highlighters and palettes etc. The packaging overall reminded me of the new Revolution Jewel Collection, but the PS…Liquid Glitter Eyeshadows look like a fairly obvious dupe of the Stila Magnificent Metals.

Price

The obvious difference between Primark and Stila is the price. Over £20 less than the Stila originals, these eyeshadows retail for £3 each.

Packaging

The packaging is very similar to Stila in appearance. I don’t personally mind that because I think they need a way of telling customers its intended dupe, but I understand why some people take issue to copying. As can be expected really for the price, the packaging does feel very cheap.

Shades

There were three shades available in my Primark- Silver, Gold and Pink.

Application

I find that the applicator on these doesn’t really disperse enough product and I have to dip back in. When built up, the colours are pretty but they are quite tricky to work with compared to the one-swipe ease of colour you get from the Stila ones.

Worn alone, these need work to get a fully opaque colour. They feel a lot more like eyeshadow toppers but they can make the eyeshadow underneath look patchy too so I’ve found the best way to wear them is over a cream base like the Maybelline Color Tattoos or Primark’s own cream shadows.

Wear

I haven’t got a specific amount of time these last on me but they did impress me in this area more than I thought they would. I tested them over different bases and found that a tacky base like a cream shadow or a tacky primer seemed to give the best results. Even with Stila, I usually end up with a glitter explosion all over my face so I was glad to see the glitter fallout on these was minimal.

Overall, these aren’t my favourite formula ever but I have no current plans to fork out on any more of the much pricier Stila Glitter & Glow for the time I actually use products like this so I’m happy to have these in my collection.
