The January 2019 Edit

I really wanted to get myself organised in January and post a monthly makeup stash but time ran away with me and now it’s already February! I had the idea to review the products I chose for the month like a hits and misses but I never quite got organised with that either so I’ve put together an edit of products I used in January along with a few other bits and pieces I wanted to share, inspired by Hollife’s monthly edits.

PS…Pro Brushes

I picked up two of these from my local Primark- the HD kabuki brush and the tapered blush brush and I really like them both. The kabuki brush is great for blending concealer and the perfect shape to fit under my eyes and the blush brush applies my blusher a lot more naturally than the large powder type brush I was using before. The handles do look a bit cheap but the brushes themselves are really nice.

Revolution Iconic Pro Lipsticks

I can’t believe I’ve never tried this formula before. I have two shades and really like the soft blurred look they give with the option of building up more pigment

ColourPop Lippe Stix

I’m sorry there are so many lip products on this list but I have to mention these. I first tried the shade Aquarius (a creamy nude) a while back and hated how it looked on me so I was put off trying any more but since I’ve discovered creamy nudes in general don’t suit me, I gave these another chance with a set of minis in deeper red-toned shades that I love a whole lot more.

Beauty Glazed Perfect Palette

I have a ton of new palettes to try out but this is the one I’ve been reaching for. It’s a dupe of the Huda Beauty New Nudes Palette which I don’t own so I can’t comment on how it compares but I really like the colour selection in this and the glitter shades are stunning.

I Heart Revolution Chocolate Glosses

Like every other beauty blogger on the planet, I’d never consider myself a gloss fan but I got three of these in the Chocolate Vault set and I love the formula. They smell incredible, the shades I have are really pretty and they’re not those sticky, gloopy sort of glosses I hate. I’ve already ordered some more!

Skincare I’m using: Soap & Glory Vitamin C Facial Wash / Pixi Retinol Tonic / Prai Throat Cream

Wearing: I’m pretty much living in fluffy pjs, it’s bloody freezing / Watching: Binging Pretty Little Liars on Netflix /  Listening to: Jimmy Eat World because I finally got to see then live in January and it meant so much to me
