Ten Empties #4

With the next lot of empties already piling up, I thought it was time I got the fourth instalment of my empties series out of the way. If you’re not familiar, I’ve started reporting on the products I’ve used up and what I thought of them in bundles of ten rather than letting them pile up monthly.

Skincare

M&S Formula Absolute Serum Elixir

Everyone loves the night cream from this range but I adored this serum! At £23, it’s on the pricey side but I would definitely pick this up again if I can get it cheaper.

Repurchase? Yes

L’Oreal Pure Clay Detox Mask

I think this worked better at clearing up my skin than the blue spot version and it’s an affordable detox mask.

Repurchase? Yes

Nip + Fab Glycolic Acid Extreme Night Pads

I’ve repurchased these many times but I think I’m going to give my skin a break for a while. Definitely recommend though!

Repurchase? Yes

Lancome Advanced Génifique Youth Activating Concentrate

I thought I was breaking out when I first tried this but that happens sometimes when I try new skincare. This made my skin look nice and fresh but it’s super expensive to buy the full size.

Repurchase? No, but would use again

Peter Thomas Roth Detox Mask

I used most of this ages ago and don’t remember so I can only really comment on the last use I got out of it which did make my skin look and feel very clean but PTR masks are so expensive to buy.

Repurchase? No, but would use again

Makeup

Max Factor Radiance Lift Concealer

This was a really good shade match for me, though this was just luck as the selection is shocking. I really enjoyed the finish and would use this concealer again, but I hated the sponge-tip packaging and felt like I didn’t get much product for £9.99.

Repurchase? Probably not

MUA Pro Base Primer

One down, 4955869 more to go in my primer collection…I’ve mentioned this before as a good affordable primer and definitely a good option if you have oily skin but prefer a moisturising primer like me.

Repurchase? I already had a backup

PS…Primer Water

I always have a bottle of this spray on hand, mostly to dampen sponges and brushes etc as it’s so cheap but it does work to prep the skin for makeup application too if I’m feeling too lazy to use a primer.

Repurchase? I already have a couple of other scented varieties of this but I would buy the original again

Morphe Continuous Setting Mist

Even though I don’t think this is the best at setting my makeup, this spray is so incredibly cooling and I love how it feels. Definitely recommend if you haven’t tried already.

Repurchase? Already have

Masks & Misc

PS…Matte Charcoal Mask

This is a peel-off mattifying mask that I don’t really recall the performance of. I think I found it quite difficult to apply from the packet and I’m not sure the peeling aspect really worked.

Repurchase? No

Avon Care Enriching Moisture Honey Sheet Mask

This sheet mask had so much serum! It was literally dripping all over me. I also thought the fit was really weird like I had it on wrong (which is possible) and it seemed to slip all over my face because it was so wet. I do feel like my skin looked healthy and felt moisturised after though.

Repurchase? Maybe

Bright Eyes Gold Dust Under Eye Mask

These felt weirdly hot and uncomfortable under my eyes and I didn’t notice much difference to the appearance.

Repurchase? No

Grow Gorgeous Scalp Detox

This sample was essentially a scrub for my scalp which was nice but I couldn’t wash all the scrub particles out and was still finding them the next day.

Repurchase? No

I’m already halfway there with the next pile of empties so it won’t be long until the next instalment!
