I discovered a love for luxury makeup recently and I’ve bought more from Charlotte Tilbury than I ever have before. I was always unsure of the Charlotte Tilbury Hollywood Flawless Filter because I don’t know where to place this in my makeup collection but I have had chance to play with it and test it out in its many uses as a primer, highlighter and coverage product. Read my review to see what I think.
The Flawless Filter retails for £34 in the UK for 30ml of product. I always find CT products are just that bit too overpriced, making it difficult for me to fully justify the price and recommend them. If this product was at the £20-£30 mark, I’d be raving about it but at £34, I have my reservations.
Charlotte Tilbury always has stunning packaging and this glass bottle with its gold lid is truly something I would proudly display on my dressing table. I was expecting a product like this to be in pump packaging but it’s actually a large doe foot applicator.
I have this in the shade 3 which is a kind of apricot bronzey tone. There are seven shades available which I don’t think is too bad considering some brands release foundation with fewer shades than that. I think I would consider going for the lighter shade 2 depending on how tanned my skin is if I repurchase.
I’ve swatched all the shades from a sample I had below so you can compare
As a multiuse product, this can be used as a primer, highlighter or for added coverage over the top of foundation. If you are using it to highlight, I can see how the doe foot would be useful to dot this product along the high points of your face but it’s a bit harder to use if you want an all-over face primer.
This serves as a great convenience product for me if I’m in a rush or just want an effortless look as I can blend it where I want on my face and my skin looks great without having to use a separate face primer or highlight to get the glow I want. I also love using this as a base for powder highlight and I find it makes makeup last longer on me.
Overall, I love this product and I’d love to recommend it if you like natural coverage and glowy products. £34 is a serious investment but I don’t know of anything like it at a cheaper price point and it will last me a long time.
