As a combination of favourites, project pan news, no buys, new buys and general blog updates, I decided to resurrect a beauty edits series I started a while back.
Project ten pan
I haven’t talked about it on my blog yet but am doing a version of project ten pan this year. I’m not going to be super strict with myself but the plan is to get back to enjoying using makeup and not just buying makeup. I’m planning to review my efforts with this project every month and give myself the option of purchasing something if I’ve finished a product up, swap out products or just get rid of something if I really don’t enjoy using it.
- BECCA Champagne Pop
- Benefit Hoola
- Glam Glow Glow Start Moisturiser
- Huda Beauty Tantour
- Anastasia Beverly Hills Foundation
- Bobbi Brown Cream Shadow Stick in Golden Pink
- Cover FX Shimmer Veil in Solei
- Colourpop Super Shock Shadow in White Rabbit
- Maybelline Superstay Matte Ink Liquid Lipstick in Pioneer
- The Body Shop Matte Liquid Lip in Tahiti Hibiscus
Other products I’m using
I didn’t really have enough for a faves and fails but I have been using products outside of my project pan. Most of these are products I’ve had for a while but not given much use to.
Avon Mark Gel Paint Pencil Eyeliner in Rich Copper
I used to use a very black Avon eyeliner which looked very harsh so I much prefer this one. It’s soft enough to use on my lashline as well as my waterline but it is a gel so can smudge easily.
Paula’s Choice 2% BHA
I think this is really a good liquid exfoliant for blackheads and pores when used regularly but I don’t think it’s effective for the type of spots I suffer from on its own.
Glow Recipe Watermelon Glow Mist
I’m trying to use this up as it has quite a short shelf life but I’m jut finding it makes my face look a bit sticky over makeup. The mister is great and I love the watermelon scent though.
January blog posts
Sample advent calendar
I didn’t end up purchasing a beauty advent calendar last year and with my goal of clearing out my collection and finishing more products, I decided to make a January version of an advent calendar using samples and minis I already had. I didn’t get through a new sample every day but it did force me to use up stuff that I’ve had for months/years so I think I will continue this in February.
As much as I love an insight into other people’s trash, one post I’ve felt less and less inspired to write is my monthly empties posts. I’m really interested to see what I use up in a whole year but I get through 20+ products per month so I think that might be too overwhelming as well. Maybe I’ll do quarterly videos or something, we’ll see!
January lifestyle faves
Song fave: Dizzy by Jimmy Eat World
TV & Film fave: I’ve just watched Spinning Out on Netflix and I’m mad that there’s only one series
Random fave: I discovered a series of French Disney colour by number books on Amazon and I’m obsessed with them
Let me what you think to the format and what else you want to see next month.
